HYSIA at the Philippine Urban Pest Management Summit 2025

HYSIA was honoured to participate in the inaugural Philippine Urban Pest Management Summit #PUPMS2025 held on May 22-23, 2025, in Manila. Hosted by the Philippine Council of Pest Management Associations (PCAP) and the Pest Free Philippines Management Operators Association (PFPMOA), this summit marked a significant milestone for the pest management industry in the Philippines.

The event brought together a dynamic group of experts, innovators, and stakeholders united by a shared commitment to advancing urban pest management practices.

The summit also covered critical topics including urban bee conservation, sustainability practices, the One Health concept, and leadership strategies – highlighting the growing need for integrated, forward-thinking approaches to pest management that balance safety, sustainability, and public health.

HYSIA’s Technical Lecture

As part of the summit, Jo Lynn Teh, BCE from HYSIA delivered a highly engaging technical lecture titled: “Aligning Pesticide Formulations with Equipment and Treatment Surfaces for Safe and Effective Application.”

• The key responsibility is to align the formulation with the right treatment surfaces and compatible equipment.
• Incorrect combinations can lead to ineffective pest control and safety hazards.

• Pesticide labels contain critical instructions for safe application.
• User manuals for equipment are equally crucial.
• Using the wrong equipment with the wrong pesticide is a disaster waiting to happen.
