An Inspirational Story of a True Leader in the Japanese Pest Management Industry

Taro Kanazawa HYSIA traces its roots back to 1969, when Keiko Kanazawa—a determined young woman in rural Japan—responded to a rodent threat in her family’s candy business by studying pest biology. Driven by practical curiosity, she founded Dynamic Sanito and developed a rodenticide based on behavioral insights. Her innovative solutions quickly gained traction beyond her community, eventually drawing the attention of Haneda Airport. Dynamic Sanito became the sole vendor for the Haneda Airport Terminal, leading to the opening of a Tokyo branch and five additional offices.

Following her retirement, her sons Yoshihito and Akita took over management and expanded the company’s offerings to include a comprehensive range of hygiene solutions—covering consulting services on HACCP and food safety, bacterial and microbial control, as well as training and education initiatives. Under the leadership of third-generation manager Taro Kanazawa, the company expanded into Singapore and Taiwan, delivering integrated hygiene solutions and IPM services across Asia.

What began as a pragmatic response to a pressing need grew into a business rooted in innovation and care. That spirit lives on in HYSIA today, as we work to create environments where everyone can live and work healthily across the Asia-Pacific.

Back then, the work was straightforward but essential—protecting homes, restaurants, and businesses from visible threats. Over time, that single-purpose company became something broader: a trusted partner in creating safer, healthier spaces.

We are proud of what that generation built. Their discipline, work ethic, and scientific mindset established a foundation we still stand on today. Because of them, HYSIA has grown into something larger—serving clients across Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan, and Australia.
